Cut to the dog...
Now that I have "won" and so am allowed to stop and think, and actually finish scenes, I am running into a wee bit of trouble.
So, paying mind to David Hewlett's comments in the Dog's Breakfast extras about when not knowing how to end a scene, just cut to the dog, I am contemplating adding in paragraphs
Ohscur the fluffy dog trotted by, chin turned up as he preened for their amusement. Everyone laughed and the tension was broken. "Someone get that dog a bone," said Gizzie.
and, being reminded that I am writing way too many bright and sunny days, and this is England, FCOL:
Oshcur the fluffy dog, looking for all the world like a drowned rat, trotted into their midst, and shook himself, scattering rain drops over all the people. Fluffy once again, he trotted back off.
