Lesson number one: Do not fly from Heathrow in the middle of a world cup match. Particularly one w/ England involved. My boarding pass said "gate closes at 1600." Silly me, ran to gate, only to wait. Once the game was over, we started boarding, about 1700, as they threw carious luggage around. Mine wasn't bad just some cracked piping. Saw some suitcases coming thru wrapped in cellotape tho - ouch! Wonder what would have happened if England lost...
Anyway I bought a Switzerland armband, so I guess I'm supporting switzerland - sorry. Came in handy too when one of my hiking makes held up the ski lift while visiting Oma. I flashed my band and said "I'm Swiss, I don't know those people." Dunno how convincing it was w/ a NY accent tho...
Got home 9:30 Sat pm, to find phone dead. Verizon dude came at 9AM sunday morning, as my jetlagged self was preparing to do third load of laundry.
Verizon dude: "Cable needs to be changed. Prob storm damage"
Steph: "Storm?"
Verizon dude: "Where have you been?"
Steph: "Europe"
Apparently we'd had storms and floods the whole time I was gone *shrug*
Coulnd't fix it yest b/c I ahve dsl and dsl dudes needed to change cable, but now all better :)
First day of work, and my shoulder and neck feel like I never left - ugh. No parkplatz stress tho - spot right outfront! (Janie will get this if no one else)
Ok it's almost 6:30. Can I go to bed now?
