I was complaining to someone this week about how I detest the gym - it's hot and smelly, and those 30 min limits and sign ups on the cardio machines drive me batty. Not that I can last 30 when it's too hot and my heart rate shoots up to fast making me dizzy. I get a much better workout walking/running outdoors, but it's winter and when it's dark at 4 or raining, not so good. There is however large group exercise room with a wood floor and mirrors that isn't always used. I've always wanted to try practicing dance steps there, but was/am shy about doing that. Today at step class, Deirdre, my teacher, told me she wanted to get a new pair or Capezio dance sneakers in black as all he dance outfits are black. She had a pair of light blue ones she was going to sell, so I tried them on and they fit :) So I bought them, for like 1/3 price of new :)

Now I can practice both hard shoe and soft shoe steps at the gym w/ these, and even tho I probably will make an idiot out of myself, at least it won't be a loud idiot *g*. Right. Just need some index cards to write steps on, and a really really REALLY slow hornpipe on the ipod...
