Did the Seattle ADD tour, Space needle, monorail, Pike St Market (STARBUCKS - got teeshirt too *blushes*), Pioneer Square and Underground Seattle Special Halloween Edition, complete with free cocktail (had Baileys and soda). Before the tour ducked into Elliot bay books, did NOT buy any but killed time in the cafe w/ a bowl of soup and cup of tea :)

Now have some pizza and diet coke, and am going to attempt 1000 words before bedtime. Oh, gotta post that warm up fic first. And address postcards...

A/N: Written for a NanoWrimo warmup challenge. Write a story in any fandom, inspired the following song lyrics. This story started out as a vignette, and then threatened to become something larger. However it's officially November 1st, so I'm posting what I've got. If you like it, poke me for more in December!

Seattle day 2

Today after free breakfast ( and lunch, as I made a peanut butter sandwich to go *innocent look*), drove out to Discovery Park, on the sound and bay. Everything is ridiculously easy to get to in this city - lol. Did the 2.8 Loop Trail through the park, as well as the 1.3 (I think) mile South Beach trail out to the lighthouse and along Puget Sound and Shilshole Bay. Couldn't have asked for a more gorgeous day - bright blue sky, turning leaves, etc.

Tested the limits of my hiking boots and discovered they apparently are not big on wet, muddy tree roots. Wiped out and got a nice muddy splotch on my hiking pants, and I feel a bruise coming on. Also got strange looks from the business suity types hanging out at the entrance to my fancy new hotel. Too bad for them ;) Pants are now washed in sink (they are zip off quick dry kind), piccies are uploaded, and am having a cup of tea brewed in the room coffee maker before taking a dip in the pool and then heading to the conference registration tonite.
