did I mention the rain?

we got much of it yesterday. I did not heed the helpful advice from ork and start at 7:30, and still managed to finish before it started, around 4ish. I braved the flood waters on the LIE, deciding that I would at least get home fast if I left my car close, and the parking lot where I leave it in Long Island City has no trees around to fall on it. We had planned to go dancing, but the dance had been canceled and no one informed. So since we were already in Manhattan and couldn't possibly get any wetter (I was wringing water out of my Gortex jacket. That's just wrong!) we went with the rest of the crowd to a diner, and then hopped up to O'Neill's for some irish music.

Today was absolutely gorgeous. Had band practice from 2-4 and then a few of us walked over to riverside park and did free kayaking. (B/c I hadn't gotten wet enough last nite, yo) Was much fun. Picniced also and then I walked up through the park to church.

And now am exhausted, so am going to watch the end of the game and read.

next weekend, aside from a family thing upstate Sat afternoon, I will stay in and write!
