So today I finish seeing patients at a decent time, head to the office to dump off paperOrk, and get the new virus upgrade for my little dysfunctional tablet (because we must keep putting on MORE software and no more hardware so the tablet has no memory and has a stroke every 5 seconds - plus the new medication upgrade 2 weeks ago destroyed the battery life and now where I used to be able to do two admissions and several revisits before it died, now I can't even do one - 5 visits and it's giving me a red light already and this is really a whole nother work bitching post so I should stop now)
*Inhales*
Right. So, in I go, drop of tablet, drop of papers, my supervisor tells me they are having a blood drive downstairs and shows me her pretty pink bandage and the stickers she got. I haven't given blood in awhile, and for once I'm actually in the right place at the right time, and down I go. They get me on the first stick (always a challenge), everything's good, I get nice green bandage tape, a pen, stickers, cranberry juice and a sandwich. Go back, get comp finish papers, head off feeling fine.
I think, hey why not stop at Target on the way home? Got little scrapbook to take to the con next weekend (so as to have *something* for the actors to sign, aside from Ronon Bear who is only for Jason), Thanksgiving tablecloth and napkins, a blue sweater for Ork. Oh and gloves. On sale $1.49 for two pair :) Am at the checkout, contemplating a stop at Starbucks as planned to go to dance class later and thus would have activity points, when suddenly start getting very dizzy. I take off my jacket and go sit down at one of the tables at Starbucks and put my head down. It gets worse.
I get the brilliant idea to go outside where the air is cooler and fresh(er). Next thing I know someone is asking me if I'm ok, and I'm on the floor by the door. I must have hit fairly hard, b/c I have a rugburn on my hand, and both of my knees are sore. Anyway, I *was* right about the cooler air, and when I get to the car and am sitting waiting for everything to go back to normal, I call my friend who was supposed to meet me at dance class tonite so I can try on some dance sneakers she has that are a bit too small for her. I tell her I'm not going to make it, and why. Her response "Aren't you a nurse?"
*headdesk*
BTW. Am cold now. Wonder if I should be worried about this, perhaps blood drive people have turned me into a vampire?

I think you might have low blood pressure, anemia or something else and you should consider having a dr. check you out.
Your blood donation should not have left you dizzy after that long of a time. It's usually a pretty quick reaction actually, starts with a tingling in the lips and then boom, down you go. I would so hate to find out something worse is wrong with you and you put it off. PLEASE, if you aren't feeling any better in the morning, go see a Doc. Please, for me?

How long after you gave blood did you decide to nose dive? Think maybe you're catching something? I hope you made sure to eat lots of red meat for supper for once to help replenish your iron.
