Downloaded the pilots episodes of New Amsterdam and Canterbury's Law from itunes free (because, yes, FINALLY installed itunes on Chuck), and watched them both tonite.
I'm enjoying wanking New Amsterdam's NYC cluelessness. First of all, dude has a heart attack on a subway platform of 137th St. Harlem. Of which I saw nary a non-white face, but I digress. So this doc who tries to save him hauls him all the way down to a hospital in the Village? No wonder he died.
and let's talk about the Hospital of the Wrong Saint.
St Francis is a New York Hospital, but not in the city. It's out in Nassau County. The hospital in the location the show gives is St *Vincents*. Okay, fine, I understand if they're not allowed to use the name. But don't use the name of another hospital in the wrong area. Call it "Village Hospital" or something, like ER calls its hosp just "County".
The music is nice tho. we shall see.
Canterbury - I'll need to see a couple more eps before I decide about that one. Didn't hate it, but did sort of drift off and start reading LJ. I like Juliana tho.
And last nite we watched the first two episodes of John Adams (I keep typing Adama) that tehjerry tivo'd from HBO
So far the series is really good. Very well cast. I can't for the life of me think where I've seen the dude playing Ben Franklin before , but he's perfect for the part. As is Paul G. as John, and I may actually stop calling Laura Linney "Cell Phone Chick" Maybe.
Was a bit disappointed that we didn't actually get to see the Boston Tea Party, and they don't quite have all their facts straight, as everyone knows it was Amos the mouse who wrote the Declaration of Independence ;) We had a bit of fun with that one, when the congress is voting to postpone the vote about declaring independence.
Me: "Yeah, good idea. Why don't you wait till, oh, say, July?"
TehJerry: "Yeah, about the 4th or so?"
Also wondering why John Adams never got his pic on anything. All the other guys got coins or bills, Sam got a beer bottle, Hancock got insurance. Just not fair ;)
And now I absolutely positively MUST get to bed - too many 2AM nites (mornings)
